D12 Rapper Shot and Killed

Rap artist Proof (real name Deshaun Holton) of popular recording group D12 was shot and killed at the CCC bar on Eight Mile Road in Detroit early yesterday morning. The group D12 is most well known for their hit "Purple Pills" as well as for often recording with fellow Detroit native Eminem. In fact, Proof was the best man at his January re-marriage to estranged wife Kim. Eight Mile Road was the inspiration for the title of Em's biographical movie, "8 Mile," and Proof has come up from the bottom with him, which makes this news all the more tragic. The bar in which the incident occured is the red building in the picture behind the man leaving the stuffed animal.

This is too bad. Proof was an amazing artist and was just beginning his rise as a solo artist. Proof, you'll be sorely missed, but we'll never forget you. R.I.P. Proof.
